		Duckpool beach

'Lee Barton Cottage' is a character end-terraced farm cottage in Morwenstow hamlet near Kilkhampton, 5 miles from Bude, North Cornwall. Duckpool seaside beauty spot & sandy beach is under 2 miles, which is reached by a pretty walk leading from the cottage. This pleasant  walk takes you to sheltered Coombe Valley, a favourite with walkers, the beach being at the sea end of this beautiful valley. Spectacular rugged cliff and valley
walks. The  origin of the name Duckpool is unknown but  possibly derives from the use of the pool for baptism by the baptist church (where those baptised would be immersed in the ‘duck pool’- a pool formed where the valley stream enters the beach) or whether the origin lays in the  ducks on this naturally formed pool. The cottage itself is in a quaint character setting on a traditional family farm (beef, dairy). Away from main road traffic with a large enclosed rear lawn (the farm lawn). Can stroll in farm orchard area which leads off from the lawn & in the woods & fields. A short stroll over to the farm’s coarse fishing lake- stocked during 2003 and 2004 with mostly carp (but may provide poor fishing), in a wooded setting- an idyllic venue for picnics. The farm is in a vey scenic setting. Adjacent parking for 2 cars in courtyard. No dogs.
 

Accommodation: First bedroom has 1 double bed. Second bedroom has 2 single beds. Bathroom has a bath, washbasin  and toilet. Also a downstairs toilet. Open plan living area with T.V. Kitchen area has an electric cooker, microwave, fridge, washing machine. 1 night storage heater downstairs and electric convectors heaters in the bedrooms.
